Winter Solstice
This illustration was inspired by the quiet turning point of the year, the winter solstice, when the nights stop growing longer and light slowly begins to return. I’ve always been fascinated by the way many nocturnal animals become more active during this period, as if darkness were something to observe rather than fear.
The piece captures that sense of stillness and subtle beauty under the longest night sky, a moment when everything feels darker, yet strangely luminous and alive.
